Dubai RTA Impounds Nearly 10,000 Vehicles for Illegal Parking in 2025
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai reported that it identified and processed 9,753 incidents of illegal parking throughout urban zones and public rights-of-way in 2025. To enforce compliance, all vehicles found violating these regulations were towed and securely impounded at the Lehbab Yard. This initiative underscores the authority's dedication to maintaining the city’s aesthetic standards while prioritizing the safety of both drivers and pedestrians on the road.
These targeted inspection campaigns focused on addressing a variety of infractions, such as the unauthorized occupation of public parking bays and the encroachment upon essential road and rail corridors. By cracking down on these disruptions, the RTA aims to prevent unnecessary traffic congestion and ensure that public spaces remain accessible and orderly. Ultimately, these measures serve to protect the seamless flow of traffic and uphold the high quality of life expected across the emirate.
