Temporary Closure of Centrepoint Metro Station Footbridge for Blue Line Expansion
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has officially initiated a temporary closure of the footbridge linking the Centrepoint Metro Station’s multi-storey car park to the station itself. This closure is a necessary step to accommodate ongoing construction work for the highly anticipated Dubai Metro Blue Line. To ensure that commuters can still reach the Red Line entrance without major inconvenience, the RTA has established a secure, signposted path on Level G. Passengers are encouraged to pay close attention to the new directional markers to navigate this temporary route smoothly.
The Blue Line project represents a massive investment of Dh20.5 billion and is a cornerstone of Dubai’s long-term transport strategy. Spanning 30 kilometers and incorporating 14 stations—ranging from underground hubs to elevated platforms—the expansion aims to drastically improve connectivity between key commercial and residential areas. With a target completion date of September 9, 2029, authorities are urging daily commuters and motorists to plan their trips with a little extra time to account for these site-specific adjustments as the city works toward this significant infrastructure milestone.
