UAE Presidential Adviser Welcomes Lebanon-Israel De-escalation Accord

Sun, Jun 28, 2026(45d ago)UAE

Dr. Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic adviser to the UAE President, has praised the recent framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, describing it as a vital move toward restoring Lebanon’s full state sovereignty. The deal, mediated by the United States, seeks to halt ongoing hostilities and establishes a clear path for the Lebanese Armed Forces to regain control over the nation’s borders. By prioritizing the disarmament of non-state actors and the dismantling of their infrastructure, the agreement aims to foster long-term regional security and address the core concerns that have fueled conflict in southern Lebanon.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued an official statement supporting the deal, acknowledging the intensive diplomatic efforts led by the US administration to reach this milestone. Emphasizing the need for regional stability, the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to Lebanon’s unity and territorial integrity. The ministry underscored that the success of this agreement lies in empowering the Lebanese state to ensure that arms remain exclusively under government control, a necessary measure to protect the country’s future and provide the Lebanese people with the stability and prosperity they seek during this challenging period.
