UAE to Integrate Agentic AI into Pharmaceutical Regulation
The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has announced a forward-thinking initiative to incorporate Agentic AI into the UAE’s pharmaceutical regulatory framework. During a recent AI Agenda Committee meeting, officials outlined plans to utilize this advanced technology to streamline critical processes, including medicine registration, supply chain management, and regulatory oversight. By focusing on enhanced data integration and the development of robust performance indicators, the authority aims to modernize its operations and fortify the nation’s drug security.
Chaired by Saeed Al Hajeri, the initiative reflects the UAE's broader strategy to solidify its status as a global hub for innovation. According to Al Hajeri, the adoption of Agentic AI is a major leap toward creating a more proactive and efficient regulatory environment. Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Director General of the EDE, further noted that this shift will significantly accelerate data analysis and decision-making. This technological evolution is expected to provide the pharmaceutical sector with the agility and flexibility needed to respond effectively to future global health developments.
