Dubai Jeweller Transforms Son's Lego Trophy into Diamond-Studded Masterpiece
What began as a heartwarming moment in a child's playroom has blossomed into a breathtaking display of luxury and artistry. Hemant Karamchandani, the owner of Passion Jewellers in Dubai, was inspired by his 10-year-old son’s dedication to building a Lego replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy. To honor his son’s passion, Karamchandani decided to elevate the toy into a high-end masterpiece, eventually turning the plastic model into a gold-plated, diamond-encrusted work of art. The intricate process took a month to complete, involving the creation of precise gold casts and the delicate inlay of 900 individual diamonds, resulting in a stunning creation valued at nearly Dh300,000.
Beyond its physical worth, the trophy serves as a symbol of Dubai’s innovative spirit and a tribute to the power of imagination. Karamchandani, who has spent 25 years honing his craft in the emirate, plans to take the trophy on a tour of local schools and sports academies to inspire young minds. Ultimately, he hopes the piece will find a permanent home at the Museum of the Future, serving as a testament to the idea that any dream can be realized through creativity and dedication. This project stands as a unique milestone in his long career of unconventional commissions, which has previously included diamond-studded footwear and luxury sculptures.
