Dubai Police Summer Training Programs: Empowering Youth with Essential Life Skills
This summer, the Dubai Police is launching an ambitious initiative that goes far beyond traditional classroom learning, offering 1,400 students from 31 different nationalities a chance to gain real-world expertise. Spanning across eight centers in Dubai and Hatta, these camps have evolved from their military-focused origins in the 1990s into a comprehensive community program. With a staggering 145,000 registrations this year, the initiative now covers everything from physical fitness and PADI-certified open water diving to critical life skills like emergency response and first aid. Parents are kept fully engaged through a new digital portal that provides real-time attendance tracking and photo updates, ensuring transparency and safety for every participant.
The curriculum is uniquely designed to foster resilience and situational awareness in an increasingly digital world. Through courses like the "Conscious Detective," students learn how to identify fraud and navigate the hidden risks of online gaming, while visits to the e-Crime department and the 901 emergency call center demystify the work of law enforcement and help children overcome their fears of reporting emergencies. Furthermore, the new "Little Paramedic" course provides hands-on first aid training, ensuring that students leave the program ready to act in real-life crises. By blending military-style discipline with modern digital ethicsâsuch as understanding the legal implications of sharing photos onlineâDubai Police is successfully preparing the next generation to be responsible, capable, and confident citizens.
