Indian Association Sharjah Launches Two-Day Consular Attestation Camp
In a move to assist Indian expatriates facing challenges with document attestation, the Indian Association Sharjah (IAS) is organizing a special two-day outreach service. Scheduled for Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, 2026, this initiative is being conducted in partnership with the Consulate General of India in Dubai. The goal is to provide a reliable solution for residents in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates who have been struggling to finalize their paperwork due to recent disruptions in regular service channels.
These difficulties stem from a legal dispute currently unfolding in the Delhi High Court regarding the outsourcing of consular services. After the contract for these services was awarded to Alhind Tours & Travels, competing bidders challenged the decision, effectively halting the company's ability to operate. With the court case ongoing and no verdict reached, the Indian Embassy and Consulate have stepped in to offer walk-in services. To support this effort, the IAS will host consular officials on-site from 9 am to 4:30 pm, where applicants are encouraged to arrive with their original documents, identification, and required fees to ensure a smooth processing experience.
