Dubai Strengthens Border Security Through Advanced Document Verification
In a significant move to bolster border security, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has intensified its efforts to combat fraudulent documentation. Over the past year and a half, authorities utilized cutting-edge verification technology to scrutinize more than 20,000 documents, successfully identifying over 900 cases of irregularities. This initiative was supported by comprehensive training programs, where specialists logged over 120 hours of instruction to sharpen their ability to detect sophisticated forgeries.
To maintain its high standards, the directorate has upgraded its Electronic Document System to integrate data from over 80 nations, drastically improving its vetting precision. Furthermore, the organizationâs document examination lab recently earned the prestigious ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, underscoring its commitment to international testing quality. By fostering strategic knowledge-exchange partnerships with global experts, such as the Federal Police Document Examination Laboratory in Frankfurt, Dubai is setting a new benchmark for international border integrity and security.
