Sharjah Consular Camp Sees High Turnout as Summer Travel Demand Peaks

Sun, Jul 5, 2026(11h ago)UAE

As the summer holiday season kicks off, a surge in Indian expats across the UAE seeking emergency travel documents has prompted a significant response. On the first day of a special two-day consular outreach program hosted by the Indian Association Sharjah (IAS) and the Consulate General of India in Dubai, over 200 residents gathered to access essential services. These included document verification, affidavits, and attestation, all aimed at streamlining preparations for families planning to travel back home during the school break.

For many local residents, the camp served as a much-needed convenience, sparing them the trip to Dubai. Attendees like Ramesh Kumar and Shabana Parveen praised the initiative for its efficiency, noting that the decentralized service saved them significant time and effort. The outreach event concludes this Sunday, July 5, at the IAS premises, with officials reminding applicants to bring all necessary original documentation and fees to ensure a smooth processing experience.
