UAE Resident Sheds 19kg to Claim Top Spot in RAK Fitness Challenge

Mon, Jul 6, 2026(3h ago)UAE

The second edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Fitness Challenge recently concluded, crowning Ahmed Mohammed Al Teneiji as its champion. By committing to a rigorous six-month regimen of consistent training and a balanced lifestyle, Al Teneiji achieved a remarkable 19kg weight loss, dropping from 109kg to 90.5kg. His victory earned him the grand prize of Dh50,000, a reward for his discipline and dedication to a healthier life. The competition, which also saw Abdullah Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi secure second place with an impressive 30kg weight loss and Hamadan Al Shemaili take third, evaluates participants based on a balanced scoring system that accounts for both body composition and overall fitness levels.

Beyond the physical transformation, the challenge served as a catalyst for sustainable lifestyle changes within the community. Organizers noted that this year’s initiative saw increased participation and a collective weight loss of 724kg, up from 600kg in the inaugural year. By incorporating diverse training sessions—such as functional, beach, and rowing exercises—the program transformed from a strict workout routine into a motivating environment for all involved. As participants like Al Teneiji and Al Shehhi look toward the future, they view these results not as a finish line, but as the foundation for long-term health and wellness, setting a positive example for residents across the emirate.
