Tragedy Strikes: Young Emirati Boy Loses Life in Tunisia Road Accident
A peaceful summer vacation in Tunisia turned into an unimaginable nightmare for an Emirati family this past Saturday when seven-year-old Jassim Mohammed Abdullah Ali Zaid Al Shehhi lost his life in a road accident. The young boy, who was visiting the Manouba Governorate with his mother and siblings, had reportedly stepped out of their home to visit a nearby shop when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. His father, Mohammed Al Shehhi, who remained in the UAE for work, received the devastating news while on the job, marking a sudden and heartbreaking end to their family trip.
Back in their hometown of Ghalilah in Ras Al Khaimah, the community is mourning the loss of a child described by his father as an affectionate and bright boy who shared a deep bond with his mother and siblings. Plans are currently underway to repatriate Jassimâs body to the UAE, with arrival scheduled for Monday night at Dubai International Airport. The family intends to hold the funeral service on Tuesday morning, laying the young boy to rest at the Ghalilah Cemetery.
