Emergency crews respond to fire near Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road

Mon, Jul 6, 2026(3h ago)UAE

Early Monday morning, a blaze erupted in the vicinity of a building along Sheikh Zayed Road, near the first interchange. Witnesses reported seeing dense, dark clouds of smoke billowing from the area between a construction site and the structure, prompting a swift response from emergency services. By mid-morning, several fire engines remained on the scene as teams worked to control the situation, which left noticeable soot damage on the building’s exterior and destroyed a nearby metal canopy.

Dubai Police have confirmed the incident and are actively managing the scene to ensure public safety. Authorities issued a warning to motorists traveling through the area, urging them to exercise extra caution as the lingering smoke continues to impact road visibility. While the exact cause and precise origin of the fire have yet to be officially determined, officials remain on-site, and inquiries have been directed to the Dubai Civil Defense for further clarification.
