UAE Revokes Horizon University College’s Licence Over Regulatory Breaches

Tue, Jul 7, 2026(2h ago)UAE

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has officially revoked the institutional licence and programme accreditation of Ajman’s Horizon University College. This decisive action comes after the institution committed repeated and severe violations of the nation’s academic and regulatory standards. As a result, the college must immediately cease all educational operations, including new student recruitment, classroom instruction, and the issuance of any academic documents or qualifications.

The ministry emphasized that these violations posed significant risks to academic integrity, institutional stability, and, most importantly, the rights of the students. To mitigate the impact on those currently enrolled, the MoHESR has established a specialized task force to manage the transfer of affected students to other accredited universities. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that students can continue their academic journeys without further interruption, while the ministry maintains its commitment to enforcing high standards across the UAE's higher education landscape.
