UAE Issues Fog Alerts as Temperatures Soar

Wed, Jul 8, 2026(45d ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology has forecast a mix of fair to partly cloudy skies for Wednesday, July 8, with cloud cover expected to increase by nightfall. Winds will shift from southwesterly to northwesterly at light to moderate speeds, though gusts could reach up to 40 km/h, potentially kicking up dust across western regions during the day. Residents should prepare for extreme heat, with temperatures peaking at 48ÂșC in some areas, while Abu Dhabi and Dubai are expected to reach highs of 40ÂșC and 39ÂșC, respectively.

Amid the heat, authorities have issued red and yellow fog alerts for the early morning hours, significantly impacting visibility. Abu Dhabi Police have advised drivers to exercise extreme caution on the roads and to strictly adhere to the dynamic speed limits shown on electronic signboards. Looking ahead to the night and early Thursday, coastal areas should expect increased humidity, while sea conditions are projected to remain slight to moderate, with occasional turbulence in the Arabian Gulf.
