Sheikh Hamdan Honours Emirati Students for Global Science Triumph
Four talented students from Dubai Schools – Al Khawaneej recently brought home a gold medal from the prestigious International Greenwich Olympiad in London. Ali Al Jarwan, Khalifa Al Marzouqi, Omar Al Balushi, and Saeed Abu Al Shawareb earned top honors for their groundbreaking project, the “Smart Irrigation Train.” This innovative system utilizes solar power and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to optimize water usage in remote farming environments, directly addressing global challenges related to food security and sustainable agriculture.
Following their success, the students were personally congratulated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. During their meeting, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that fostering young Emirati talent is a national priority, noting that these creative minds are essential to driving the UAE’s progress.
