UAE braces for intense heat with temperatures nearing 48ºC

Thu, Jul 9, 2026(12h ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted a mix of partly cloudy to cloudy skies across the northern and eastern regions of the UAE today. Winds are expected to range from light to moderate, blowing from the southwest and northwest, though they may pick up speed over western coastal waters, potentially reaching 40 kmph.

While maximum temperatures are predicted to soar to a sweltering 48ºC in some parts of the country, residents in Abu Dhabi and Dubai can expect highs of 41ºC and 40ºC, respectively. As night falls, the atmosphere will turn humid, with conditions expected to persist into Tuesday morning across various internal regions. Humidity levels are projected to fluctuate between 25 and 75 percent, while marine conditions will remain generally slight to moderate, though the Arabian Gulf may see rougher waters in western areas.
