Adnoc L&S Expands LNG Fleet with Dh3.3 Billion Order
Adnoc Logistics & Services (Adnoc L&S) is making a significant move to strengthen its international shipping capabilities by ordering four cutting-edge LNG carriers valued at approximately Dh3.3 billion. These vessels, each boasting a 175,000-cubic-metre capacity, are being constructed at the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai with a scheduled arrival in 2029. This strategic investment is designed to bolster Adnoc’s global LNG trading platform, which is aggressively targeting an output of 47 million tonnes per annum by 2035. According to Adnoc L&S CEO Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, the expansion highlights the firm's optimism regarding the long-term future of the gas market and its commitment to facilitating the global energy transition through a more efficient, modern fleet.
This latest contract brings the company’s total LNG newbuild programme to 18 vessels, marking a pivotal step in its ambitious growth strategy. Beyond the LNG carriers, the company also recently took delivery of the "Meera," one of the world's largest ammonia carriers, through a joint venture. These developments follow a period of robust financial performance that led the company to raise its earnings outlook for 2026. Having committed over $5 billion to fleet expansion since 2022, Adnoc L&S is prioritizing fuel-efficient technology to ensure that its growing fleet remains both commercially competitive and environmentally conscious as it connects key global energy hubs.
