Dubai Airports Prepares for Summer Travel Surge with Tech Upgrades
Dubai Customs is gearing up for a bustling summer season as an estimated 3 million passengers are projected to travel through the city's airports during the first half of July alone. To manage this influx, the authority has integrated cutting-edge inspection technology, most notably an advanced screening system that processes passenger luggage in just seven seconds. With 19 high-tech screening units and 77 inspection systems deployed across all terminals, the focus remains on balancing rigorous security standards with the need for rapid, efficient processing during this peak travel window.
In addition to speeding up security, Dubai Customs has launched dedicated veterinary inspection rooms across Terminals 1, 2, and 3 to streamline the travel process for those arriving with animals. These specialized facilities ensure that pet inspections are handled both securely and comfortably, significantly reducing wait times for owners. Travelers are also encouraged to consult the official Dubai Customs Traveller Guide to brush up on duty-free allowances—such as the Dh3,000 limit on gifts—and to familiarize themselves with entry regulations to ensure a seamless arrival experience.
