UAE to Mandate Unified Monthly Salary Deadline for Private Sector Workers
Starting June 1, 2026, the UAE government is implementing a new regulation to standardize salary disbursements across the private sector. Under this updated directive from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, all private companies will be required to pay employee wages by the first day of each month for the work completed during the preceding month. Any compensation processed after this date will be officially classified as a delayed payment, marking a significant shift in how payroll compliance is monitored across the country.
To ensure transparency and accountability, businesses must process these payments exclusively through the Wage Protection System or other ministry-approved platforms. Furthermore, employers will be obligated to submit formal documentation and data confirming that wages have been disbursed on time. This move is designed to strengthen labor protections and ensure that workers across the UAE receive their earnings in a consistent and timely manner, with more regulatory details expected to be released as the implementation date approaches.
