Indian Consulate in Dubai Halts Services Temporarily Due to Road Maintenance

Fri, Jul 17, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The Indian Consulate in Dubai has announced a temporary suspension of all passport, visa, and attestation services from Friday, July 17, 2026, through Sunday, July 19, 2026. This brief closure is necessary to accommodate essential road maintenance work being conducted in the area. Normal operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, July 20, 2026, with the online appointment portal reopening on the evening of July 19 at 8:00 PM. Importantly, those requiring these services on Friday can still visit the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, which will remain fully operational.

These service adjustments follow a period of transition for Indian consular offices in the UAE, which began handling these tasks directly on July 1 after the previous outsourcing contract ended. The shift occurred amid ongoing legal disputes involving the tendering process for a new service provider, leading the Delhi High Court to mandate a retendering procedure. As a result of this transition, the missions have moved away from walk-in services, now requiring all applicants to secure an appointment through their online booking system to manage the current workload effectively.
