NTA Releases NEET UG 2026 Results Following Paper Leak Controversy
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the results for the NEET UG 2026 examination, a move designed to keep the medical admission and counseling process on schedule. Despite the shadow cast by previous irregularities, approximately 1.12 million students have successfully qualified for various undergraduate medical, dental, and AYUSH programs. With nearly 2 million candidates having taken the exam across centers in India and abroad, students can now access their individual scorecards, as well as comprehensive data on state-wise and category-wise toppers, directly through the official NTA website.
The road to these results was far from standard, as the NTA was forced to conduct a re-examination on June 21, 2026, following the cancellation of the initial May 3 test due to an alleged paper leak. A high-profile investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently underway, resulting in several arrests, including that of a chemistry professor linked to the testing process. Amidst these challenges, the recent re-test was held under strict security protocols at locations across India and the UAE to ensure integrity. Notably, the data reveals a strong performance by younger students, with 138 candidates securing scores above 690, the vast majority of whom were first-time test-takers.
