Dubai Student Achieves Top NEET Rank Outside India
For 18-year-old Sankalp Sandeep Naik, the path to academic success was far from linear. A student at JSS Private School in Dubai, Sankalp admitted that the repeated postponement of the NEET exam nearly broke his spirit, leading him to consider giving up entirely. However, he credits his remarkable turnaround to the unwavering support of his family, who made significant sacrifices to ensure he stayed on track. From his brother vacating their shared bedroom so he could study late into the night to his father taking leave from work to be present for him, the family’s collective effort provided the foundation for his success. Ultimately, Sankalp secured a 99.9253 percentile with an impressive 650 marks, earning him the top rank among all candidates appearing from outside India.
The journey required more than just academic dedication; it demanded a complete lifestyle overhaul. Sankalp had to step away from his beloved cricket academy and forgo various personal milestones, including his own 18th birthday, to focus on his intensive five-month preparation. Reflecting on the challenge, he noted that the hardest part was the transition from a casual routine to rigorous daily study sessions. Now, with his sights set on AIIMS Nagpur, the aspiring neurosurgeon hopes to inspire future aspirants by emphasizing the value of consistent revision over rote volume, proving that with the right support system and discipline, even the most daunting academic goals are within reach.
