Dubai Launches Comprehensive Digital Archive to Preserve Cultural Legacy

Mon, May 18, 2026(95d ago)UAE

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation has officially introduced the “Dubai Archive,” a forward-thinking initiative dedicated to safeguarding the city's historical, cultural, and institutional records. By transitioning into a centralized, integrated digital system, the project aims to ensure that Dubai’s collective memory remains protected and accessible for generations to come, while simultaneously advancing the emirate's broader goals regarding digital governance.

To kick off the project, the Foundation has entered into strategic partnerships with five major government entities: the Dubai Municipality, the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, the Dubai Digital Authority, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, and the Dubai Government Human Resources Department. These pilot agreements mark the initial phase of a collaborative effort designed to streamline record-keeping and secure vital administrative and cultural documentation within a unified digital infrastructure.
