Dubai gold prices hold steady amid market uncertainty
Gold prices in the UAE remained stable this Monday, with the 24K variant continuing to trade at Dh484.5 per gram, marking its second consecutive week without change. Other popular carats, including 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K, also held their previous values. While spot gold saw a slight uptick of 0.21 percent to reach $4,012.36 per ounce and silver experienced a 2 percent gain, the precious metal is still feeling pressure from a robust US dollar and rising Treasury yields, which dampen its appeal as a safe-haven investment.
Market experts, including Vijay Valecha of Century Financial, note that gold is currently struggling to maintain its footing. The combination of persistent US inflation and the anticipation of a restrictive Federal Reserve monetary policy has increased the opportunity cost for gold investors. Although central bank acquisitions are helping to prevent a sharp decline, gold is expected to stay range-bound for the remainder of the year. Investors should keep a close eye on incoming economic data and geopolitical shifts, as these factors will likely dictate whether the metal sustains its current levels or faces further downward pressure.
