Regional Flight Disruptions: UAE Airlines Adjust Schedules Amid Rising Tensions

Tue, Jul 21, 2026(6h ago)UAE

Escalating instability across the Middle East has triggered widespread flight cancellations and delays for major UAE carriers. As hostilities continue in nations like Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar, airlines including Emirates, Etihad, flydubai, and Air Arabia have been forced to adjust their operations to ensure passenger safety. While a potential 10-day ceasefire is currently being negotiated by mediators to de-escalate the situation, the impact on regional air travel remains significant, with Monday alone seeing 16 flights grounded due to the volatile environment.

Etihad Airways has reported disruptions across several routes, citing "operational reasons" and temporary airport closures in Bahrain and Kuwait. Similarly, Emirates has cancelled a series of flights to Bahrain and Kuwait, while flydubai and Air Arabia have also faced scheduling challenges, including the cancellation of multiple services to Doha and various Bahraini routes. Passengers are advised to remain vigilant and monitor official airline channels for the latest updates, as the situation continues to evolve rapidly based on security conditions on the ground.
