Dubai Bolsters Non-Profit Sector Through Ethraa Initiative

Wed, Jul 22, 2026(4h ago)UAE

Dubai has officially kicked off the third phase of its Ethraa programme, a strategic move designed to professionalize and invigorate the emirate’s non-profit landscape. With a remarkable 100 percent participation rate, all 146 organizations currently overseen by the Community Development Authority (CDA) are involved in this year’s cycle. The initiative is a cornerstone of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, aiming to elevate standards in governance, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability for charities and community groups across the city.

By fostering a culture of institutional excellence, the CDA intends to transform these organizations into robust strategic partners in Dubai’s broader development goals. Leaders from the sector recently gathered for an orientation session to learn how to leverage new technical and operational tools to maximize their social impact. Ultimately, the program reflects the leadership's commitment to building a cohesive society by ensuring that the third sector is not only well-regulated but also fully empowered to improve the quality of life for the entire community.
