DP World Expands UAE Maritime Presence with Two New Fujairah Terminals
DP World has officially entered into a 50-year agreement with the Fujairah Ports Authority to construct two major port terminals on the UAE's east coast. This strategic project involves the development of the Al Rugaylat container and multi-purpose terminal alongside the Dibba General Cargo terminal. Designed to accommodate the next generation of ultra-large container vessels, this deep-water gateway will be built in phases over the next two to three years, providing global shippers with enhanced flexibility and better access to critical trade routes.
Once fully operational, these terminals will significantly boost DP Worldâs total container handling capacity in the UAE to nearly 22 million TEU, while also expanding capabilities for general cargo and vehicle logistics. The Al Rugaylat site alone is expected to handle 2.5 million TEU annually, complemented by substantial capacity at the Dibba facility. By integrating these new assets with Jafza, DP World aims to create a more seamless end-to-end supply chain, fostering greater economic growth and positioning Fujairah as an even more vital player in the global maritime industry.
