Abu Dhabi Enhances Transit Links for Etihad Rail Passengers
Abu Dhabi has officially introduced two dedicated bus routes, MR1 and MR2, designed to streamline travel for passengers heading to and from the Mohammed bin Zayed City Train Station. These lines establish a direct connection with the Main and Al Zahya Bus Stations, significantly simplifying the commute for those looking to utilize the growing Etihad Rail network. This initiative is part of a broader effort to integrate public transport systems, ensuring that train arrivals and departures are closely synchronized with local bus and taxi services for a more seamless travel experience.
Beyond the new bus routes, commuters can take advantage of a convenient shuttle service priced at Dh10, which connects the Mohammed bin Zayed City Station to major landmarks such as Reem Mall, the ADNEC Centre, and the ADNOC Headquarters. Booking for these shuttles is easily managed via the official Etihad Rail platform. As the passenger service continues to expand following its initial phase, officials are also enhancing station infrastructure at both ends of the line, including the addition of car rental desks and dedicated taxi ranks to support the official network inauguration scheduled for September 2026.
