Blue-Collar Heroes: The Servhub Cricket Club’s Journey to Glory

Sat, Jul 25, 2026(2h ago)UAE

The legendary Sharjah Cricket Stadium, known for hosting some of cricket's most iconic moments, has found a new underdog story to celebrate. The Servhub Cricket Club, a squad comprised entirely of blue-collar workers—ranging from logistics coordinators and drivers to camp bosses—has captured attention by dominating the Bukhatir League and the Sharjah Summer Cup. Far from being just a casual office team, these men, aged between 20 and 40, have climbed from a corporate hobby to the top tier of UAE club cricket. Their roster boasts genuine talent, including former Under-19 international players from India and the UAE, as well as experienced first-class cricketers from Pakistan, all balancing demanding labor roles with intense professional competition.

This remarkable journey began in 2020 as a pandemic-era team-building initiative by Servhub, a workforce solutions firm. What started as a way to foster bonding between office and ground staff quickly evolved into a serious competitive pursuit, with the company providing the flexibility needed for players to train and compete. Despite the heartbreak of losing a major final by a mere three runs, the team’s ambition remains steadfast. Supported by a management team that encourages their aspirations, these athletes are now fueled by a singular, ambitious goal: to earn a spot on the UAE national cricket team. For the players and their leadership, the club has become more than a sports team; it is a community built on discipline, mutual support, and the shared dream of representing their country on the international stage.
