It has been nearly a month since Etihad Rail launched its initial service between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, and the response from UAE residents has been overwhelmingly positive. With passenger demand for the comfortable, scenic commute already high, the network is preparing for a significant expansion. Starting September 30, 2026, the service will grow to include stations in Dubai (near Jumeirah Golf Estates) and Al Dhaid in Sharjah. This will be followed by a series of launches in the Al Dhafra region, including Madinat Zayed and Liwa in November 2026, and Al Sila, Al Dhannah, and Al Mirfa by the end of that year. The first phase of the passenger network is currently slated for completion in March 2027 with the opening of the Sharjah University City station.

Travelers can currently take advantage of a 50 percent launch discount on the Abu Dhabi–Fujairah route, with Comfort Class starting at Dh55 and Premium Class at Dh120. While pricing for future stations remains under wraps, the current ticketing system offers flexible options—Saver, Value, and Flex—to accommodate different travel needs, along with discounts for seniors and children. Beyond the convenience, the journey itself is a major draw; the route transition from expansive desert dunes to the dramatic tunnels and peaks of the Hajar Mountains provides what many call a world-class travel experience. To ensure a seamless trip, Etihad Rail is integrating directly with local transport hubs, including Dubai’s RTA network via Nol cards and dedicated shuttle services in Abu Dhabi, ultimately connecting 11 cities across all seven emirates along a 900km line.
