UAE Identifies Iraq as Source of Drone Attacks Near Nuclear Facility
The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence has officially identified the origin of several hostile aerial incursions that took place near the Barakah nuclear power plant. According to government reports, authorities successfully tracked and intercepted three drones on May 17, confirming that these devices were launched from Iraqi territory. This discovery marks a significant development in the security situation surrounding the nation’s vital infrastructure.
Beyond the incident near the nuclear site, the Ministry of Defence reported that a total of six drones were detected and neutralized over a 48-hour period. These unmanned aircraft were reportedly attempting to target various civilian areas and critical facilities across the country. Officials are currently maintaining a heightened state of vigilance as they continue to address these security threats and investigate the origins of the aerial activity.
