UAE Launches World’s First Master’s Degree in AI Governance
The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has officially introduced the Master in Innovation Management and AI Governance (MIMAIG), marking a global milestone as the first academic program of its kind. Designed to prepare the next generation of public sector leaders for an increasingly digital world, the curriculum utilizes a unique "quintuple helix" framework. This approach blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on experiential learning, covering essential topics like strategic leadership, innovation management, and the complex ethical considerations surrounding AI in public policy.
The program is structured for flexibility, offering a 180-credit course that can be completed in 18 months full-time or over two years part-time, utilizing a blended format of online and in-person weekend classes. Beyond the classroom, students will engage in international field visits to global tech hubs and diplomatic organizations to study real-world governance practices. According to Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, this initiative is a direct response to the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, aiming to cultivate agile leaders capable of managing the shift toward agentic AI within government operations while ensuring that the public sector remains resilient amidst rapid technological breakthroughs.
