UAE Weather Update: Scattered Showers and Intense Heat Expected

Sun, Aug 9, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather update for the UAE this Sunday, August 9, predicting a mix of fair to partly cloudy skies. While the day will largely be dominated by heat, there is a good chance of rainfall. Meteorologists have noted the formation of convective clouds, particularly over the country’s eastern and internal regions, which could lead to localized showers throughout the day.

Despite the potential for rain, residents should prepare for sweltering conditions as temperatures are set to climb as high as 48°C in certain areas. Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are bracing for highs of 46°C, with overnight lows hovering around 35°C. Additionally, residents should be cautious of shifting winds; while generally light to moderate, they may strengthen significantly during cloud activity, potentially reaching speeds of up to 50kmph and kicking up dust across the region.
