ADX Hits Dh2.8 Trillion Milestone Driven by Foreign Investment
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) wrapped up the first half of 2026 with a robust market capitalization of Dh2.8 trillion, fueled by a surge in trading activity and heightened interest from global investors. During this period, the exchange saw total trading value climb to Dh171 billion, with a notable 12% jump in individual trades. Institutional players dominated the landscape, accounting for 78% of the trading value, while international investors made up nearly half of the activity. This upward momentum reflects the broader success of UAE equity markets, which have seen record-breaking valuations and a steady influx of new participants eager to tap into the region’s growing financial ecosystem.
Beyond the numbers, the ADX has been aggressively expanding its global footprint by simplifying market access and upgrading its infrastructure. The exchange attracted over 30,000 new investors in the first six months of the year, with international participants representing a massive 77% of those new sign-ups. Strategic moves—such as appointing HSBC as a foreign General Clearing Member, hosting roadshows in key financial hubs like London and Hong Kong, and welcoming new listings—have solidified Abu Dhabi's status as a key player in the international arena. As leadership continues to focus on enhancing liquidity and building cross-border connectivity, the ADX remains well-positioned to sustain this impressive growth trajectory.
