India Marks 80th Independence Day with Grand Celebrations in UAE
The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has officially extended an invitation to the Indian diaspora and well-wishers across the UAE to commemorate India’s 80th Independence Day. The festivities are scheduled for the early morning of August 15, 2026, at the embassy premises. The program is set to kick off at 6:30 am, followed by a formal flag-hoisting ceremony at 7:00 am. This gathering aims to unite the community in a shared spirit of patriotism, allowing everyone to honor the nation’s rich heritage and celebrate its significant milestone.
This upcoming event follows a tradition of vibrant celebrations seen throughout the UAE, such as last year’s impressive turnout at the Indian Consulate in Dubai. Previous festivities have featured a blend of formal proceedings, including national anthem recitals and insightful speeches, alongside lively cultural performances and photo exhibitions detailing the history of the national flag. In addition to community gatherings, the UAE has historically shown its solidarity through spectacular gestures, such as illuminating the iconic Burj Khalifa in the colors of the Indian tricolor, reflecting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.
