While this celestial event serves as a traditional marker that the peak of the heat is behind us, experts caution that relief will be gradual rather than immediate. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, emphasizes that while the extreme temperatures experienced during the recent "Ayam Al Ghayth" period—where mercury hit 51°C—will begin to trend downward, the atmosphere will remain far from cool for some time.

During this transition, the UAE will likely trade intense dry heat for higher humidity levels, which can make the weather feel just as stifling. Residents should also remain prepared for "Zafarat Al Qayth," or brief, late-summer spikes in heat that can occur before conditions eventually stabilize around the autumn equinox in late September. While the emergence of Suhail is a reliable sign that the seasons are shifting, genuine relief from the daytime heat is not expected until the arrival of November, with more comfortable evenings becoming the norm once the calendar turns toward the end of the year.
