New Dubai Bridge to Drastically Reduce Traffic Near World Trade Centre

Thu, Aug 13, 2026(2h ago)UAE

Commuters in Dubai can look forward to significantly smoother journeys starting this Friday, as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) prepares to open a new 500-metre bridge. Designed to ease congestion during the city's busy exhibition and conference season, this two-lane structure will slash travel times for those leaving the Dubai World Trade Centre and One Central area toward Al Mustaqbal Street and Za’abeel Palace Street from ten minutes down to just two. This infrastructure boost is a key component of the Dh633-million Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project, which aims to increase road capacity by a third and accommodate over 8,000 vehicles per hour once fully operational.

Looking ahead, the RTA has ambitious plans to transform the city's traffic flow by 2027, with three new tunnels set to open at the Al Mustaqbal and Trade Centre Street intersection. These tunnels, alongside the ongoing World Trade Centre Roundabout development—which is already over 85 percent complete—represent a massive effort to modernize Dubai's road network. With additional bridges opening in the coming months and further upgrades scheduled for the Oud Maitha and Al Asayel corridors, the RTA expects these comprehensive improvements to benefit half a million residents and visitors while drastically cutting commute times across vital hubs like DIFC, Downtown Dubai, and Business Bay.
