UAE Leaders Send Warm Greetings to Pakistan on Independence Day
On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, top leadership in the UAE, including President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, extended formal congratulatory messages to President Asif Ali Zardari. Similar sentiments were shared by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who reached out to both President Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to mark the historic anniversary.
Pakistan officially celebrates its independence on August 14, honoring the day the nation secured its sovereignty from the United Kingdom. This relationship remains deeply significant, as Pakistanis represent the second-largest expatriate community in the UAE, with over 1.5 million residents contributing to the country. In celebration of the milestone, the Pakistani embassy in Abu Dhabi organized a flag-hoisting ceremony, inviting the local community to gather and commemorate their national heritage.
