UAE Denounces Iranian Assault on Adnoc Vessels in Strait of Hormuz
The United Arab Emirates has issued a stern condemnation following a hostile attack by Iranian forces on two commercial vessels linked to Adnoc as they traveled through the Strait of Hormuz. In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the assault as a flagrant violation of international law and UN Security Council resolution 2817, which protects the freedom of navigation. By utilizing the strait as a mechanism for economic blackmail and coercion, the UAE argued that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is engaging in acts of piracy that jeopardize regional stability and global energy security.
Adnoc confirmed that the incident occurred on Thursday evening, marking the second such disruption in less than a week. While the energy giant reported that the situation was successfully contained with no injuries to the crew, it emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to ensure the safety of seafarers and the unconditional reopening of the waterway. The UAE has called upon Iran to immediately halt these unprovoked hostilities to prevent further escalation and protect the integrity of international maritime trade routes.
