In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the assault as a flagrant violation of international law and UN Security Council resolution 2817, which protects the freedom of navigation. By utilizing the strait as a mechanism for economic blackmail and coercion, the UAE argued that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is engaging in acts of piracy that jeopardize regional stability and global energy security.

Adnoc confirmed that the incident occurred on Thursday evening, marking the second such disruption in less than a week. While the energy giant reported that the situation was successfully contained with no injuries to the crew, it emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to ensure the safety of seafarers and the unconditional reopening of the waterway.
