UAE Prioritizes Worker Wellbeing With Free Summer Health Screenings
To combat the intense summer heat in the UAE, a major health initiative recently provided free, on-site screenings to over 8,350 workers across Dubai. Spearheaded by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) under the "Summer Without Risks" campaign, the program reached laborers in key areas like Muhaisnah, Al Mankhool, and Al Qusais. By deploying 28 specialized healthcare professionals directly to job sites, the initiative ensured that those most vulnerable to extreme temperatures received vital medical check-ups and personalized advice.
Beyond simple screenings, the campaign emphasized the importance of education by conducting multilingual awareness sessions focused on heat stress and sun protection. Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor highlighted that bringing preventive healthcare directly to the workplace is a crucial strategy for safeguarding laborers during the peak of summer. This collaborative effort, supported by partners like Aster DM Healthcare and Drydocks World, underscores the UAE's ongoing commitment to fostering a safer working environment and ensuring that essential health resources remain accessible even under the most challenging weather conditions.
