Abu Dhabi Authorities Shut Down Lassi Shop Over Health Violations

Fri, Aug 14, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has ordered the temporary closure of a local Lassi Shop branch due to significant public health concerns. The enforcement action, announced on August 14, followed a series of persistent food safety failures. According to officials, the establishment repeatedly ignored warnings and failed to implement necessary corrective measures, leaving authorities no choice but to shut down operations to protect consumer well-being.

This closure comes as a direct consequence of violating Law No. (2) of 2008, which governs food safety standards within the Emirate. ADAFSA has reiterated its commitment to maintaining rigorous health protocols and has urged the public to remain vigilant. Residents are encouraged to report any suspected safety breaches or non-compliance at food outlets by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government’s toll-free hotline at 800555. Inspectors continue to monitor local businesses to ensure that all food distributed in the region meets the required safety regulations.
