New Traffic Restrictions for Worker Buses at Muroor Bridge
Starting August 17, Abu Dhabi Mobility is implementing a significant change to traffic management protocols in the capital. Large worker transport buses with a 50-passenger capacity will no longer be permitted to use the Muroor Bridge exit (E328B) when heading toward the Abu Dhabi–Al Ain Road (E22). Instead, these vehicles must divert to the Truck Bridge exit, which connects to Al Rawdah Street (E30), to reach Al Mafraq Workers City.
While officials haven't explicitly stated the primary driver behind this decision, the timing suggests a proactive effort to streamline traffic flow ahead of the upcoming Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday holiday. By rerouting large transport vehicles, the authority likely aims to reduce congestion during the busy three-day weekend. This strategy mirrors successful traffic control measures utilized during previous holidays and National Day celebrations, ensuring a safer and more efficient commute for both residents and visitors throughout the city.
