Tensions Escalate as Adnoc Vessels Face Repeated Attacks in Strait of Hormuz

Sat, Aug 15, 2026(1h ago)UAE

State-owned energy giant Adnoc has reported another security incident involving one of its vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, August 14. Fortunately, no injuries occurred, and the company successfully brought the situation under control. This event follows a troubling pattern, coming just one day after two other company ships were targeted in the same vital waterway. Adnoc has urged the public to rely only on official updates rather than unverified reports, while reiterating its core commitment to the safety of its crew and the preservation of global maritime freedom.

The United Arab Emirates has issued a stern condemnation of these actions, characterizing them as a direct violation of UN Security Council resolution 2817. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is calling on Iran to immediately cease these hostile acts, which threaten regional stability and the flow of international trade. This latest aggression marks the third such incident within a single week, adding to a mounting toll since the conflict began—a period that has already seen multiple injuries and the tragic loss of a seafarer during an attack on July 14. A coalition of nations, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Qatar, has joined the UAE in denouncing these ongoing threats to commercial shipping.
