Since the regional conflict began on February 28, a total of 18 Adnoc ships have been targeted. Emphasizing a strategy rooted in diplomacy, international law, and deterrence, the UAE maintains that it will continue to protect its sovereign rights, specifically regarding freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

The ongoing maritime tensions have escalated as Iran continues to exert control over the Strait, labeling the passage of vessels under its supervision a necessity for regional security. Tehran’s move to block energy exports and threaten the imposition of navigational fees has been met with firm opposition from the UAE and the United States. While U.S. officials have touted a "wall of steel" to oversee the waterway, Iranian military spokespeople have dismissed such claims as fabrications, insisting that the strategic passage remains under their exclusive management.
