UAE Weather Update: Fog Alerts and Forecast for August 16

Sun, Aug 16, 2026(3h ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a mix of red and yellow alerts across the UAE this Sunday, August 16, as early morning fog blanketed parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. To ensure road safety, Abu Dhabi Police have implemented reduced speed limits on major routes, including the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Abu Dhabi-Al Ain roads. Motorists are being urged to remain vigilant and strictly follow the digital speed signs displayed along these highways.

Aside from the morning haze, the forecast indicates a mix of sun and clouds, particularly over the eastern and northern regions, with a chance of light rainfall in some spots. While the skies offer some relief, the heat remains intense; temperatures are expected to climb as high as 48°C in certain inland areas, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi hovering around 42°C and 45°C, respectively. As night falls, humidity levels are set to rise, potentially leading to mist by Monday morning, accompanied by light to moderate breezes throughout the day.
