Pure Super White Falcon Fetches Dh250,000 at ADIHEX Auction
The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) kicked off its preliminary events with a dramatic auction that saw a Pure Super White Jeer falcon sell for a staggering Dh250,000. The winning bidder, Khalid bin Saifan, made a bold move by jumping the price from Dh210,000 to the final winning bid in a single stroke. Celebrating his victory in true Emirati fashion, bin Saifan recited traditional folk poetry to honor the bird's pedigree, highlighting the deep cultural significance and passion that defines the falconry community in the UAE.
This high-profile sale served as the highlight of the first of eight planned auctions leading up to the main ADIHEX event, which runs at the Adnec Centre Abu Dhabi until September 6. These auctions serve as a premier gathering point for breeders and enthusiasts to acquire elite birds, many of which may eventually qualify for the prestigious President’s Cup Falconry Competition. With a variety of breeds like the Garmousha Pure and Gyr Pure set to be featured throughout the upcoming sessions, the event continues to cement its reputation as a vital hub for preserving the region's rich hunting heritage.
