UAE Weather: Rain Expected Amid Sweltering 45°C Heat
The National Centre of Meteorology has forecasted a mix of fair to partly cloudy conditions across the UAE for Tuesday, August 18. While the skies will remain relatively calm for most of the day, residents in the eastern and southern regions should prepare for convective cloud formations by the afternoon, which bring a high probability of localized rainfall. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally picking up to 40 km/hr, while maritime conditions will remain mild across both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Despite the chance of rain, the intense summer heat shows no signs of slowing down just yet. Abu Dhabi is bracing for a high of 46°C, while Dubai and Sharjah will see temperatures climb to 45°C, with overnight lows remaining warm. However, some relief is on the horizon; the much-anticipated appearance of the Suhail star on August 24 signals the end of peak summer. While experts note that temperatures will begin a gradual decline shortly after, residents are advised that the cooling process will be incremental rather than immediate.
