Etihad Rail’s New Car Rental Service Simplifies Travel for Passengers

Tue, Aug 18, 2026(4h ago)UAE

Etihad Rail passengers now have a convenient way to complete their journey with the launch of a new "Rail to Road" rental service. Through a partnership with Thrifty Car Rental, travelers arriving at Abu Dhabi and Fujairah stations can rent vehicles starting from just Dh80 a day. The service is designed for maximum convenience, eliminating the need for security deposits and the hassle of refueling, as all rentals include prepaid fuel and a 60km daily allowance.

Booking is incredibly flexible, allowing passengers to reserve a car in advance, at the station, or as a walk-in without any minimum wait times. The fleet is divided into three categories—Essential, Comfort, and Stretch—catering to everything from compact hatchbacks to premium SUVs. While the service is primarily set up for round-trips to the train station, customers have the added flexibility of returning their vehicles to any Thrifty location for a small one-way fee. With a five-year investment plan exceeding Dh10 million, this initiative aims to create a seamless first- and last-mile travel experience that will eventually expand across all 11 of the network’s passenger stations.
