UAE Weather: Foggy Mornings and Sweltering Heat Ahead

Wed, Aug 19, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The UAE is experiencing a mix of unsettled weather this Wednesday, August 19, as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) warns of both fog and rain. While convective cloud formations are anticipated over the southern and eastern regions, coastal areas in the west have been placed under red and yellow fog alerts to manage hazardous driving conditions caused by poor visibility. Residents should also prepare for high humidity levels throughout the night and into Thursday morning, which may trigger further misty conditions and reduce visibility once again.

As for temperatures, the country remains firmly in the grip of summer heat. Residents in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah can expect mercury levels to soar well into the mid-40s, with peaks reaching up to 45°C. The conditions will be compounded by light to moderate winds shifting from the southeast to the northwest, occasionally gusting up to 40 km/hr and stirring up dust. Fortunately, those heading to the coast will find relatively calm seas in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
