UAE Weather Update: Rain Forecast and Cooling Temperatures
The UAE is set for a mix of fair to partly cloudy skies this Friday, August 21, as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts the potential for convective cloud formation over the country’s eastern and southern regions by the afternoon. Alongside these cloud formations, residents should prepare for humid conditions moving into Friday night and Saturday morning, particularly in western areas, where there is a slight chance of fog or mist developing. Winds are expected to remain light to moderate, occasionally picking up speeds of up to 45 km/h, while maritime conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are anticipated to be relatively calm.
As the country begins its slow transition away from the intensity of peak summer, residents can expect a noticeable shift in atmospheric conditions. While temperatures in major hubs like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah are forecasted to reach a maximum of 39°C, cooler overnight lows are on the horizon, with Dubai dipping to 33°C and Abu Dhabi and Sharjah reaching 32°C. Although meteorologists have noted that a change in wind patterns—bringing dust and reduced visibility before cooler north-westerly winds take hold—is underway, the shift remains gradual, meaning that warm and humid weather will persist for the time being.
